“At Silent Book Club, there’s no assigned reading. All readers are welcome—ebooks, audiobooks, textbooks, comic books… it’s BYOBook. Our events are free and support local businesses. Friends and strangers gather at a set time and location, order food or drinks, share what they’re reading, and settle in for an hour of silent, sustained reading. At the end of the hour, attendees can socialize—or not!
We started Silent Book Club because reading with friends enriches our lives and makes us happy. We love hearing about what people are reading (often in their other book clubs) and we think it’s important to put down our phones and be social.”

Cider Dinner with Albemarle Ciderworks and Daring Wine & Cider Co.
at Cafe Frank
Cider Dinner with Albemarle Ciderworks and Daring Wine & Cider Co.
Pét-nat (petillant naturel) is a style of sparkling wine made in a manner that predates the better-known Methode Champenoise or the Charmat method used in Champagne, Prosecco, or Cava production. Rather than inducing a second fermentation in bottle to create carbonation, makers of pét-nat capture the end of primary fermentation and bottle before fermentation is finished. The result is softly fizzy, low intervention, low or no sulfite whimsical sparkling wine typically sealed with a crown cap instead of a cork.
LEARN
Join us during Cider Week for this special event with Zach from Sage Bird and Patrick & Danielle from Patois as they share more about Pet Nats, what they are and how they are made, all while sampling a variety of wines & ciders showcasing some carrying approaches to pet nat.

Join us in the Orchard room for live Music & Cider.
Inspired by the Blue Ridge Mountains and the rich musical traditions tied to them, Tara Mills describes her music as, “original mountain americana;” an original blend of folk, bluegrass, and americana. Writing and singing most of her life, it wasn’t long before Tara picked up a guitar and taught herself how to express the melodies in her head through her songs and hauntingly beautiful lyrics. Influenced by bluegrass, old country, and traditional mountain folk, she creates an original sound that captures true human feeling and emotion. Based out of Charlottesville, VA, Tara plays and writes in a couple of different musical projects.
