Central Virginia may be known for its vineyards, but not to be missed are its six cideries. Each week before Thanksgiving is designated as “Virginia Cider Week,” where cider makers and industry supporters take part in events around the state, particularly the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County, in an effort to boost the profile of Virginia ciders and the people who produce them.
